For a school visit during 2008-9:
Within a 2-hour drive - in Atlanta, nearby Northeast Georgia, and nearby South Carolina - my fee is $950. That includes up to 4 programs.
(Please Note: If heavy morning traffic will make it difficult for me to reach your school by the starting time of my program, I will need lodging close to your school, and this is the school’s responsibility.)
Hometown area (Clarke and Oconee Counties, Georgia) - inquire about my special “courtesy rate.”
Yes, I am willing to travel. For an-out-of-state visit, I charge $1,200 per day, plus lodging & transportation. If I have 3 or more days of work in the same area, my fee drops to $1000 per day
(plus lodging & a portion of transportation).
How about an after-school workshop (one hour) for teachers on “Making History Come Alive in the Classroom”? If I’m already on campus, I’ll offer this workshop for an additional $300.
Yes, I will be glad to have lunch with selected students while I’m on campus. I’ll also be glad to autograph books.
